Eleven top e-commerce retailers in the UAE have signed a new 'Compliance Pledge' with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT).

This initiative is designed to improve the quality and safety of online products sold in the country.

The pledge ensures that products meet the UAE's strict standards and technical regulations, enhancing consumer trust and safety.

The agreement was signed in Dubai on Monday, with major platforms such as Amazon, Noon, Al-Futtaim Group (IKEA, Ace Hardware, Watsons, Toys 'R' Us, Marks & Spencer), Nikai Group, Eros Group, Jacky’s, Lulu International, Al Ghandi Electronics, Al Yousuf Electronics, Sharaf DG, and Samsung among the signatories.

Omar Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary at the MoIAT, emphasised that the pledge is a key step toward the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology. He praised the participating platforms and encouraged other e-commerce businesses to join in raising product quality and safety standards.

Al Suwaidi highlighted the collaborative effort between the government and private sector to ensure better, safer products for consumers and to support the growth of the UAE’s e-commerce sector.
