UAE to build homes for people affected by Sudan floods

The UAE is helping build 200 homes for people affected by the recent floods in Sudan.

The initiative called 'Al Salam Village' is being implemented in River Nile State.

It is led by Ajman's International Humanitarian and Charity Organisation (IHCO), whose Executive Manager, Dr. Khalid Abdel Wahhab Al Khajah laid the foundation stone for the project.

"The village will include a Grand Mosque and a health centre," Dr. Al Khajah said, stressing that the project will be the beginning of similar charitable initiatives in Sudan.

The IHCO recently distributed 5,000 food parcels to people in the Sudanese capital Khartoum, and several remote villages.

Beneficiaries of the aid projects in Sudan thanked the UAE and the IHCO for supporting people living in affected provinces.
