The UAE's Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure is implementing development projects worth AED 11.8 billion.

As many as 129 projects are expected to be completed by 2023 as part of the ministry's five-year plan launched in 2018.

They include the construction of government buildings, in addition to the development and maintenance of educational and health facilities, as well as federal roads, dams and water canals.

Hassan Mohammed Juma Al Mansouri, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, told national news agency WAM that the package includes 70 government buildings at a cost of AED 6.62 billion, in addition to 17 health projects, and 26 other projects for the Ministry of Interior.

There are also plans for 12 infrastructure schemes for educational facilities, projects to develop 15 government buildings that will be accessible to the public, 28 projects to construct and maintain federal roads, and 31 others for dams and water canals, at a total cost of AED 5.18 billion.

The official said the Ministry is keen on keeping pace with the government's aspirations for the next 50 years by developing resilient action plans that will help achieve the 2071 centenary vision, support the national economy, and contribute to providing a high quality of life for the country's population.
