The UAE is emerging as a global leader in child protection and welfare, as highlighted by Her Excellency Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum during her keynote address at the World Early Childhood Development Forum held in Abu Dhabi.

The event took place from October 30-31 under the patronage of Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

In her speech, Sheikha Latifa emphasised the UAE’s commitment to nurturing future generations through various initiatives and robust legal frameworks that empower children in society.

She stressed the critical need for specialised research and data on early childhood development, particularly within the Arab world.

The Forum aims to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange in early childhood education, focusing on three strategic pillars: Intentional Parenting, Culture and Identity, and Sustainable, Family-Friendly Cities.

Sheikha Latifa noted that these pillars are vital for raising future generations that are connected to their identities and authentic values.

She also discussed the profound impact of early childhood education on intellectual and emotional development, calling for the creation of engaging educational and media content tailored to the curiosity of young learners in today’s technology-driven world.

The event features over 30 interactive sessions and discussions with 50 speakers from diverse sectors, including prominent figures like Sheikha Hala Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa and Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy.

As the Forum concludes, it underscores the UAE's commitment to investing in children and shaping their identities, laying the foundation for a strong, creative, and culturally rich future.
