UAE confirms targeted attack by Sudanese Army on ambassador’s residence

WAM

The UAE has emphasised that there are pictures and clear evidence that prove the Sudanese Army's role in the recent attack on the UAE Ambassador’s residence in Khartoum.

Salem Al Jaberi, UAE Assistant Minister for Security & Military Affairs, said that this evidence undermines the false narrative put forth by the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its Armed Forces.

He confirmed that the attack by the Sudanese army, which targeted the UAE Ambassador's Khartoum residence, resulted in extensive damage to the building and surrounding area.

Al Jaberi noted that the Sudanese Armed Forces have persistently attempted to evade legal and moral accountability for the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Sudan, instead misleading the international community and diverting attention from the suffering of its people.

The UAE official called on United Nations experts to review the evidence related to the attack and expressed gratitude to over 100 countries and international organisations that condemned the act and showed solidarity with the UAE.

He reiterated that the UAE remains committed to working with its partners towards a peaceful resolution in Sudan.
