As many as 3,779 bicycles and e-scooters have been seized by Dubai's Naif Police Station as part of a crackdown on reckless riders.

The two-wheelers that were confiscated during the first eight months of this year, included 2,286 bicycles, 771 electric bikes and 722 scooters.

Authorities warn that riding these vehicles in non-designated areas can pose significant risks and cause confusion for other drivers. To enhance road safety, Dubai Police are actively conducting awareness campaigns.

Brigadier Omar Musa Ashour, Acting Director of Naif Police Station, emphasised the importance of following safety measures. Riders must stick to designated lanes, avoid jogging or walking paths, and refrain from carrying passengers or items that may affect balance.

It's crucial to comply with licensing requirements, always ride in the direction of traffic, dismount at pedestrian crossings, and maintain a safe distance from vehicles and pedestrians.

Wearing helmets and reflective jackets is strongly advised, as well as avoiding rides during nighttime or poor weather conditions.
