Access to COVID-19 vaccine appointments in Dubai could open up to all members of the community "some time in March".
That's according to Dr. Alawi Alsheikh Ali, Deputy Director General at the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), who was speaking exclusively to Dubai Eye 103.8's Business Breakfast show on Thursday.
"I’m confident that at the end of the first quarter, or some time in March, we’d be seriously consider opening up to other members of the community," he said.
The vaccination slots are currently available for priority categories or those scheduled in for their second dose.
Dr Alsheikh explained that "prioritization is key for any vaccination rollout. So the target right now is to make sure that people who are most vulnerable are covered. Also, those people who are most likely to get infected, like the frontline workers."
