Etihad Airways has cancelled its operations in Beirut on Tuesday, in response to the increased tensions in Lebanon.

In a statement, the carrier said, “The safety of our guests and crew is our number one priority and we regret any inconvenience caused by this cancellation.”

Etihad Airways added it is mentoring the situation and continues to maintain close contact with authorities.

The ARN News Centre has reached out to other major UAE carriers for an updated flight status to and from Beirut.

Tensions in Lebanon have steadily increased over the last few days, after thousands of pagers and handheld radios were detonated. Since then, Israel has launched more than 800 missiles and drones into Lebanon, killing over 500 people, including women and children. The Israeli military called on residents of southern Lebanon to evacuate and stay away from “Hezbollah’s operational sites.”
