The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has introduced an initiative aimed at enhancing the mental well-being of the community.
The 'Mental Wealth Framework' focuses on early detection, intervention and prevention strategies for mental health issues. It will be implemented over the next five years at a cost of AED 105 million.
This initiative supports Dubai Social Agenda 33’s goals to establish Dubai as a leading global destination for living, working and visiting.
The framework caters to all segments of society with specialised programmes for early identification of factors affecting mental and emotional well-being, alongside providing top-notch care and support services to ensure psychological and community stability.
It also emphasises enhancing psychological capacities in educational settings, empowering school staff and parents, and promoting higher levels of satisfaction and happiness among community members.
Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi, Director General of the DHA, said that the framework is based on the latest best practices for promoting mental well-being and employs innovative solutions to achieve the highest levels of overall well-being. It also benchmarks against the top six global models.
"The authority will work in cooperation with relevant entities and community members to harness all enablers and tools necessary to achieve the aims of the Mental Wealth Framework," he added.
