Dubai Police step up efforts to ensure 'A Day Without Accidents'

Dubai Police welcomed the new academic year with a robust security plan, teaming up with strategic partners and authorities to safeguard students, parents and road users.

'A Day Without Accidents' campaign kicked off on Monday, August 26, coinciding with the re-opening of schools after the summer break.

The initiative led by the Ministry of Interior aims to enhance driver behaviour and promote shared responsibility to boost safety and protect lives and property.

The campaign also offered motorists across the country the chance to get four black points removed from their traffic records if they avoid committing any violations on the first day of the school year.

Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Acting Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations at Dubai Police, highlighted the force's commitment to maintaining top traffic safety standards by deploying patrols and officers around schools, roads and intersections. This operation is supervised by high-ranking officers.

Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Acting Director of the General Department of Traffic, detailed the traffic management plans for the school year.

These include patrols stationed at schools, intersections and internal roads to manage traffic and ease congestion. Efforts also involve organising student entry, securing pedestrian crossings and supporting school bus operations.
