Dubai Police mediated a dispute between a teenager and her parents after the latter requested assistance in resolving the issue, the authority said.

The Victim Support Unit of the Naif Police Station swiftly arranged a reconciliation session after carefully listening to both sides, persuading the teenager to return home after she had been staying at a friend's home.

Brigadier Ashour praised the team's dedication and highlighted the human-centered nature of the Victim Support Programme, which is under Dubai Police's General Department of Criminal Investigation.

"The initiative focuses on supporting victims of criminal and traffic incidents by offering legal advice, emotional support, and mediation when needed," he said.

Brigadier Ashour emphasised that the programme aims to strengthen community trust, prevent legal escalation of personal disputes, and provide high-quality support to victims in accordance with legal procedures.

Brigadier Ashour also called on parents to be mindful of their children's emotional development and to navigate teenage challenges with patience, understanding, and wise guidance.
