Hospitals and health centres run by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) have started receiving patients for non-urgent services that were previously suspended to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

They are resuming services gradually across different medical specialties, while continuing to handle COVID-19 cases.

The DHA is also providing telemedicine consultation in addition to homecare services, medicine delivery services and many others targeted at people with chronic diseases, the elderly and people of determination.

Meanwhile, officials have clarified that coronavirus cases vary in severity, with only 0.6 per cent of patients requiring ICU care, while the rest do not require hospitalisation.

The mild cases are referred to isolation facilities run by specialised DHA teams in partnership with the private sector.
