Black panther on the loose? Search continues

Dubai Police has reassured the community that it will take all the necessary measures to minimise any potential danger to people from a wild animal.

This comes after an unidentified creature was spotted in the Springs/ Meadows area. Some social media posts by residents suggest it is a panther, however, police officers are yet to confirm the animal's species. 

According to officials, trained professionals are currently conducting extensive searches to locate and capture the animal.

Meanwhile, authorities have advised residents in the community to exercise caution until further updates are provided. 

Dubai Police is, once again, reminding the public that bringing any wild animals to a public setting is strictly prohibited under the UAE's laws. 

Violators can face a jail term of up to six months in addition to severe financial penalties.

People have been urged to call 901 if they spot the animal.

Emaar Community Management team sent out a notice to residents of the wider Emirates Living community on Wednesday saying it is taking all safety and security measures.

"Dubai Municipality and Dubai Police have appointed trained professionals to carry out an extensive search for the exotic animal," the circular said

It also called on residents to immediately get in touch with its security team if they sight the animal.
