The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) has announced the launch of a new licensing framework for Healthy Longevity Medicine Centres, making it the first initiative of its kind globally.
These centres will offer a comprehensive range of services focused on wellness, longevity and disease prevention, utilizing patient data from platforms like Malaffi and Ifhas to create personalised health journeys.
"Today’s announcement marks a significant milestone as we continue our transition from a reactive to a proactive healthcare model that places disease prevention at its core," said Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary of the DoH.
The initiative aims to empower communities by providing preventative and therapeutic practices tailored to individual health goals, addressing various aspects of care including lifestyle, mental well-being and age-related conditions.
To support this multidisciplinary approach, new licensing and qualification requirements for health coaches and exercise physiologists are also being developed.
