Sri Lanka crowned Asia Cup champions

Sri Lanka won the 2022 Asia Cup beating Pakistan by 23 runs in the final at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Dasun Shanaka's men posted 170-6 on the board and then dismissed their opponents for 147 in the allotted 20 overs.

Pramod Madushan took four wickets and Wanindu Hasaranga claimed three while opener Mohammad Rizwan top scored for Pakistan with 55 off 49 balls.

Iftikhar Ahmed (32) and Haris Rauf (13) were the only other Pakistani batsmen to register double figures.

After losing the toss and sent to bat, Sri Lanka had earlier scored 170-6, thanks to Bhanuka Rajapaksa's unbeaten 71 runs off 45 balls and Hasaranga's 36 off 21 balls.

For Pakistan, Haris Rauf took three wickets while Shadab Khan, Naseem Shah, and Iftikhar Ahmed took one-wicket each.

With this victory, Sri Lanka have claimed their sixth Asia Cup title.
