French Open postponed; US Open is weighing options

The French Open, which usually begins in May, has been moved to September due to concerns over COVID-19.

The Grand Slam event will now run from September 20 to October 4, the tournament's organisers confirmed.

The decision to change the schedule has irked some players, as they would have to play gruelling Grand Slam events on different surfaces with no break in between.

Meanwhile, organisers of the US Open have said they are open to the "possibility of moving the tournament to a later date".

However, the decision would be taken only after consulting with their partners, the other Grand Slam tournaments, as well as the WTA and the ATP.

Earlier this week, the WTA announced that the Tour will be suspended until May 2 with three events postponed.
