LUKA GONZALES / AFP

Flamengo have clinched their first Copa Libertadores title since 1981.

The Brazilian giants struck two late goals to beat Argentina's River Plate 2-1 in the final.

River looked on track to win the game following Rafael Santos Borre's first-half goal but Gabriel Barbosa pulled Flamengo level in the 89th minute and then scored the winner in the 92nd minute.

The final of South America's biggest club football competition was played in the Peruvian capital Lima.
