Emirates has cancelled flights to Iran and Iraq until October 16, the airline announced on Tuesday evening. Earlier in the week, flights to Baghdad and Basra in Iraq had resumed before the latest update.
In a statement on its website, the airline said," Emirates flights to/from Iraq (Baghdad & Basra) and Iran (Tehran) are cancelled up to and including 16 October 2024. Customers transiting through Dubai with final destinations in Iraq (Baghdad & Basra) and Iran (Tehran) will not be accepted for travel at their point of origin up to and including 16 October 2024."
Emirates flights to Beirut remain suspended until at least October 15.
Impacted customers must contact their booking agents for alternative travel options or contact the airline if they have booked with Emirates directly.
On Monday, Flydubai extended its flight cancellations from Dubai International to Beirut International Airport due to the ongoing developments in the region.
A Flydubai spokesperson confirmed: "Due to the ongoing developments, flydubai flights between Dubai International (DXB) and Beirut International Airport (BEY) have been suspended until October 31. We continue to monitor the situation closely and amend our flight schedule accordingly.
