Ramadan Kareem! Louie from Mac and DaCosta and I went to the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding on August 21st. We shared Iftar with our families and learnt all about the way Ramadan is celebrated in the United Arab Emirates.

After breaking the fast we donned abayas and shaylas to visit the mosque in historical Bastakiya. I learned so much and can’t explain what an enriching experience it was for me.

We ate Gaymat and Harees which are local dishes common during Ramadan Iftar. Louie’s gorgeous little girl was with us and we all ate camel milk chocolate for desert!
