Rihanna lands big budget action flick

Rihanna has signed up to star as the female lead in Universal’s upcoming action film Battleship – based on the Hasbro board game of the same name.

The 22-year-old RNB star will be acting alongside hunky co-stars Taylor Kitsch (who played Gambit in X-Men Origins) and Alexander Skarsgard (from hit series True Blood).

Shooting is set to begin later in the year and the film is scheduled for a 2012 release.

Audiences can expect lots of big action scenes and Riri looking very chic in battle couture!
